I bought a GameBoy Advance

After thinking about it a lot, I decided to settle a debt with my inner child, who always dreamed of having a GameBoy.

Introduction

Growing up, there are certain objects that represent more than just entertainment; they represent a status or a dream that feels light-years away. For me, that was the GameBoy Advance.

As a child, I wanted one more than anything. However, my reality was very different. My mother worked incredibly hard, but we were very poor, and buying a gaming console was simply an impossible luxury. I learned to accept that some dreams were meant for others, not for me.

The Gift that Took 20 Years to Arrive

Now that life has changed and things are going better, I decided it was time to settle an old debt with my inner child. I went on eBay and found a masterpiece: a modified GameBoy Advance with a modern LCD screen.

Final build

This isn’t just a nostalgic handheld. The new IPS LCD screen makes the colors pop in a way the original hardware never could. It’s crisp, bright, and beautiful. A technical upgrade for a classic experience.

Holding it in my hands today feels like a victory. It’s a reminder of how far I’ve come. It’s not just about the games; it’s about the fact that I can finally provide for the kid who had to watch from the sidelines.

If you’re thinking about healing your inner child by getting that one thing you never could have, this is your sign. It’s worth every penny.

Games collection

Of course, the real joy of owning a GameBoy Advance is playing the games. I have a collection of classics like “The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap,” “Metroid Fusion,” and “Advance Wars.” Each game brings back memories and offers a new experience with the enhanced screen.
